Permanent Magnet vs SCR Rated Motors
Most smaller motors in this catalog are permanent magnet DC motors, a simple and efficient design for fractional horsepower applications. Larger motors are often SCR rated instead, meaning they're built to run cleanly off an SCR type DC drive, which is the standard way to control speed on bigger industrial DC motors.
Gearmotors for Very Low Speed Needs
If your application needs to turn slowly and with high torque, our right angle DC gearmotors run as low as 4 to 10 RPM. That kind of speed is difficult to reach with a standard motor and gearbox setup, which makes a purpose built gearmotor the more practical choice.
